Description
John Madin’s designs have played a key role in shaping Birmingham’s skyline over the past 40 years. However, there is very little remaining of his contribution to the city. Birmingham Central Library built in 1973, was reduced to rubble in 2016.
This iconic Brutalist building was a sign of positive progression for the people of Birmingham, however not admired by all. With it’s demolition being a great loss, let us not forget what buildings we still have, they must be cherished and appreciated for their advances in construction technology and the marvel they create.
