Satchel Lane 01

Satchel Lane

What a lovely way to remember a now demolished home.  A house on the south of England with a beautiful view of the sea.

Yes, it is a simple looking building, but when the only photos you have to work with were taken from a low angle, it makes judging scale something of a challenge.  There was a little back and forwards with the client, but this is all part of the design process, and it didn’t take long until the height & position of each element was spot on.

The build of this picture was actually quite fiddly.  Slits and taps were cut in some elements to connect flat and tilted parts, for example the upper windows on the roof.
The home used to be surrounded by shrubbery and wildlife so it felt fitting to include it.
